Hong Kong, July 1st, 2012: Today Hong Kong’s leading free-to-air broadcaster, Television Broadcasts Limited (‘TVB’), launched a series of enhanced weather programmes featuring world-leading weather graphics system Weatherscape XT, from MetraWeather.
In response to ever-increasing public interest in weather, meteorology, pollution, typhoons and other atmospheric conditions, TVB has been steadily expanding the frequency and sophistication of its weather reporting. The launch of its latest Weatherscape XT-generated services is another major step forwards.
Commenting on the launch, TVB’s Controller of News and Information C.W. Yuen said, “TVB takes the reporting of weather, particularly extreme weather, very seriously and we are delighted to be deploying the system to add a new dimension to the news and information services TVB’s audience has come to rely on.”

TVB will air weather-related content across its Hong Kong broadcast channels in Chinese and English; on its Chinese-language digital platforms; and on its Chinese-language channels in North America and Europe.
