MetraWeather WeatherscapeXT™ News Updates at IBC 2017

MetraWeather executives Peter Lowe and Murray Charteris are meeting with customers at IBC 2017 and presenting developments in the WeatherscapeXT™ Black Edition weather graphics presentation platform.

IBC is the world’s leading Conference & Exhibition for media, entertainment and technology professionals. It covers fifteen halls across the RAI in Amsterdam and this year plays host to over 1,700 exhibitors. In 2016 it attracted more than 55,000 attendees from 170 countries.

Australian Broadcasting Corporation

MetraWeather has completed the set by picking up the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australia’s national public broadcaster, as a media customer.

All the major Australian TV networks now enjoy world-class weather graphics, data and service. The ABC have launched WeatherscapeXT in their eight key national and regional broadcast centres, leveraging Weatherscape’s superior networking capability.

All studios from Darwin in the far North to Hobart in the South are linked to a centralised database in Sydney which ensures consistency of style and content whether broadcast to air, or published to ABC’s website or social media platforms.

PAGASA

MetraWeather is currently planning the installation of the latest release of its WeatherscapeXT Black Edition weather presentation software for the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Recognising the importance of reliable, high-quality, graphical weather for public safety communications, the system will be used for data visualisation by PAGASA and will produce critical weather graphics during severe weather events.

As part of the deal PAGASA data will also become available to MetraWeather customers.

Product Range

MetraWeather has extended its range of media products following on from the successful release of WeatherscapeXT Black Edition in response to the changing needs of modern communications platforms.

WeatherscapeXT Breeze and Clip offer camera ready pre-rendered content with a range of customisable features ideal for broadcast, web or social media.

WeatherscapeXT Solo is a single box on-site solution, offering all the power of WeatherscapeXT in a smaller hardware footprint.

WeatherscapeXT Enterprise supports more complex multi-studio environments, and WeatherscapeXT Platinum adds the option of professional managed services for completely hassle free operation.

Finally WeatherscapeXT Cloud Cover provides regular customised clips rendered off site as a backup to your on site Weatherscape production.

All products in the range are powered by the WeatherscapeXT Black Edition rendering engine and produce the same high quality graphical output. Data and mapping packages can be tailored to suit your location and needs.
