Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation (BNC) groundbreaking new Radiation Isotope Identifier (called a RIID by Dept of Homeland Security) offers a suite of features to address a growing range of applications. From the technical needs of a health physicist, to a food and drug inspector, to a first responder in a HAZMAT suit, the SAM 940 Defender and Revealer will excite your field users. The Berkeley Nucleonics SAM 940 Defender was developed to give users what they need: simple operation options, the ability to react quickly, and automatically obtain reliable, accurate technical data. Several modes of operation give users a range of technical reports on isotope identification and dose rate characterization. The most simple is a basic Isotope ID; the most complex includes nuclide specific dose calculations, GPS and historical data and an analysis of statistical confidence levels.

High volume air samplers are used for the collection of airborne particulate matter in ambient air. They are available for the collection of Total Suspended particulates (TSP), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 10µm (PM10), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 2.5µm (PM2.5), and semi-volatile organic compounds and pesticides (PUF).

The Hi-Vol PM 2.5 ambient air sampler is designed to provide owners of our TE-6001 PM-10 samplers with the option of retrofitiing existing equipment rather than procure a new family of apparatus. An adapter is placed into the model TE-6001 sampler in lieu of the existing PM 10 fractonator. The adapter has a new plate that contains multiple impactors, which collect particles larger than PM 2.5 aersol on a oil-wetted surface. The PM 2.5 aerosol is transmitted through the impactor and collected on a hi-vol filter.

Designed as an Atmospheric Precipitation Sample, Acid Precipitation Sampler for accurately separating and collecting both total precipitation and total particulate deposition for later laboratory analysis of pH, conductivity, and specification. The Model A.P.S. is designed for severe environments with a main frame constructed of heavy gauge aluminum and powder coated, and holds two symmetrically placed collections. The collectors have a common garbled-roof cover with international sealing surface. The TE-78-100 APS is designed to collect precipitation in two containers – one container is open only during precipitation and the other container remains open between precipitation events. This allows dry deposited material to be collected also. A specially designed sensor detects precipitation and activates the motor, which in turn transfers the cover from the wet container to the dry container. When the precipitation event is over the cycle is reversed. The most outstanding feature of this unit is the simplicity of design, reliability of the operating components, and the quality of the materials.

With a proven track record of successful installations, the Vaisala Wind Set WA15 has earned its reputation as the industry standard in the wind sensor market. The WA15 consists of a Vaisala Anemometer WAA151, a Vaisala Wind Vane WAV151, an optional crossarm, a power supply and cabling. Anemometer with Excellent Linearity The WAA151 is a fast response, low threshold anemometer. Three lightweight, conical cups mounted on the cup wheel, provide excellent linearity over the entire operating range, up to 75 m/s. A wind-rotated chopper disc attached to the shaft of the cup wheel cuts an infrared light beam 14 times per revolution. This generates a pulse output from the phototransistor.
